I love to read. I try to read up on numerous things from history to poetry. One of the topics I like to read about in my free time is time management. I read blogs and books on the topic regularly. I know that may sound strange for leisure reading, but I guess I am a little strange. The reason I am so drawn to this topic is simple. Time management is crucial to all areas of life. The handling of it can either increase or decrease productivity in personal and professional life. Time will not wait on us. We must at least manage it the best way we can. One of the most basic methods of increasing productivity through time management is one we use frequently. You may have used it this morning. It is making a basic list. The best way to approach the list is to write down all of the things that need to be done and then go back and prioritize those items by the most important. To truly find the highest priority, one must find the tasks that have time sensitive urgency and carry the most weight. Those items are elevated to the top. Then you begin to implement your plan to complete those tasks.

This works extremely well for people personally, but what if we were to apply this simple method to our personal ministry to our communities? What if we were to be intentional about focusing on what God is calling us to do personally with the people we come in contact with daily? What if we truly regained the true urgency of our mission to the broken and poor in spirit?
